Australia cancels major state deals with China

Federal government uses powers created last year to terminate two Victorian cooperation agreements

Two agreements as part of Victoria’s “Belt and Road” cooperation with China have been cancelled by the federal government.

The announcement was made by foreign minister Marise Payne (pictured) in her first use of ‘foreign interference’ powers created late last year.
