UN report shows 1.4 degree Celsius rise in Australian temperatures, causing more storms and fires

Australian contributors to the Sixth Assessment Report from the UN’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change say their projections are more reliable than ever.

Shayne McGregor, a researcher at Monash University and an IPCC lead author, told Research Professional News that the latest report, released on 9 August, confirms the panel’s previous projections. “I just want to highlight how eerily accurate those earlier reports have been,” he said.
