Climate bill promising but more ambition needed, scientists say

Leading researchers say Australia needs policy clarity and research investment to meet climate promises

Australia’s proposed climate change legislation is “positive” but does not yet go far enough, leading researchers have told a Senate inquiry.

Submissions to a review of the Climate Change Bill 2022 by the Senate Standing Committees on Environment and Communications have called for specific bans on new coal and some other fossil fuel projects.
