Some researchers have stalled while others are overwhelmed, according to Australian health conference speakers
The varied effects of the Covid-19 pandemic on Australia’s health research workforce should be reflected in how they are treated, according to research leaders speaking at this year’s Australian Academy of Health and Medical Sciences conference.
On 27 October, Karen Canfell, the director of the NSW-based Daffodil cancer research centre, told those attending that while many early to mid-career researchers had seen their work delayed, with difficulty making transitions and disruptions to travel, some more senior researchers had been overwhelmed with work.
