Government is seeking urgent action to bridge the ‘valley of death’ between academia and industry

Earlier this year, Australian education minister Alan Tudge delivered a blunt message at the University of Melbourne.

“Too often,” he said, “our research does not make it through to commercialisation—it falls into the ‘valley of death’ between academia and industry, between theory and real-world application.”
