Adelaide and South Australia discuss academic merger

Union would create stronger research capacities and attract more international students, partners say

The Universities of South Australia and Adelaide have entered merger talks in the hopes of becoming more attractive internationally.

On 8 December, Australian minister for education Jason Clare announced the move and called it “a tremendous opportunity”. “The proposed new Adelaide University will be a powerhouse of research and a beacon for both domestic and international students,” he said.
