France’s business leaders say they recognise academia’s role of creating knowledge and jobs
The French private sector values publicly funded and university research as a means to gain skilled staff and access new knowledge, a survey has shown.
Conducted by market research company OpinionWay on behalf of the Conference of University Presidents (CPU), the survey found that both regional government officials and business heads recognise the many and varied contributions that universities make to society. This includes boosting local economies and improving social cohesion, with research being singled out for special praise.
