Winning institutions will receive cash bonuses to promote public engagement with research
France’s ministry of higher education, research and innovation has announced the first winners of the Science with and for Society scheme (SAPS), with funding of up to €500,000 each going to eight universities.
Following a selection made by an expert jury, research minister Frédérique Vidal announced the finalists on 10 November. Introduced as part of the LPPR research funding reform project, the SAPS programme aims to support higher education institutions that involve the public in research and innovation, and develop methods to make results accessible to all.
