Budget meant to accelerate French “start-up nation” will finance tech-intensive small companies

The latest editions of two funding competitions dubbed i-PhD and i-Lab have got under way in France with the goal of funding academic entrepreneurs in the medical sciences.

Frédérique Vidal, France’s minister for higher education and research, launched the 2021 calls for the competitions on 24 November. She said the aim was to finance technology-intensive startups under the government’s fourth Investments in the Future (PIA4) funding programme.
