CNRS charity’s first year deemed ‘intense and interesting’

French foundation’s leadership claim successful launch despite Covid-19 pandemic reducing activities

The CNRS Foundation, a charitable body created a year ago by France’s National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS), has said its first twelve months were “intense and interesting” despite restrictions imposed by Covid-19.

In a statement to celebrate its first year of existence, the foundation admitted that its activities had suffered due to the coronavirus pandemic. But its director general Michel Mortier said that France’s several lockdowns had allowed the organisation to focus on getting its structure right.
