CNRS and University of Arizona found research centre to address global challenges

France’s National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS) and the University of Arizona have signed an agreement to create a new type of research centre in the United States.

The France-Arizona Institute for Global Grand Challenges will focus on the environment, space science, data science, and global climate change, CNRS said. The centre will be CNRS’s first International Research Centre (IRC), an umbrella structure intended to support various collaborations, including international laboratories, research projects and thematic networks.
