In depth: The board of engineering school École Polytechnique has approved the sale of land on the Paris-Saclay research cluster to luxury-goods company LVMH, best known for its fashion brand Louis Vuitton. The approval removes the final obstacle in the way of the construction of LVMH Gaia, a research centre on “sustainable and digital luxury”, which has been opposed by many École Polytechnique alumni.
