Researchers unite against evaluation bureaucracy

Scientists say administrative burden placed on them by assessors at HCERES should be ‘drastically’ reduced

Three bodies representing senior researchers have issued a renewed call for simplification in research evaluation processes used by research oversight body the High Council for Evaluation, Research and Higher Education (HCERES).

In a statement published on 21 February, the Assembly of Laboratory Directors (ADL), the Permanent Commission of the National Council of Universities (CP-CNU), and the Coordination of the Heads of the National Committee for Scientific Research (CoNRS) call on the HCERES to focus on the scientific project of labs being evaluated, reinstate visits to research units and simplify required reporting procedures.
