French research on cryptography picked up by US agency

CNRS and University of Limoges win international competition

The CNRS, France’s multidisciplinary research organisation, and the University of Limoges have signed a licence agreement that will allow the US National Institute of Standards and Technology to adopt cryptographic standards developed in France.

The agreement follows an international competition launched by Nist around standards for cryptographic algorithms to be used as quantum computing develops and becomes more widely adopted.
