Saclay leads Shanghai maths ranking

   

More French institutions enter subject-specific rankings, to research minister’s delight

Paris-Saclay University has retained the top spot in the Shanghai Ranking’s Global Ranking of Academic Subjects (Gras) for mathematics, marking its third consecutive year at the top of the table.

There were successes for other French institutions as well. Forty-three universities and grandes écoles appear in the top 100 for their subjects, up from 40 in 2021, while 19 institutions are ranked among the top 50. Overall, France holds a total of 664 positions among all the subject rankings, representing 3.5 per cent of all places held.
