DAAD exchange funder says academic cooperation should continue with caution
Germany’s academic exchange funder has warned researchers and their institutions to minimise their dependence on academic cooperation with China, amid shifting international allegiances.
The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) sounded the warning in a policy paper outlining recommendations for Germany’s foreign science policy in the coming decade, published as politicians continue talks aimed at forming a federal government after the election last month. The DAAD wants to see the resulting government adopt “a practically oriented foreign academic policy” to meet global challenges.
