Council demands better—not more—science communication

   

Improvements to how and why scientists reach out to society could boost trust, paper states

Germany’s science council has published a position paper saying that improvements need to be made on how researchers in the country communicate their work to the public.

The council, which advises the German government, said that science communication needed to improve in terms of quality, not quantity. It said there were limits to how much science communication could achieve in terms of volume, as exemplified by the global Covid-19 pandemic.
