Opinion paper slams AfD attempts to discredit German academics studying diversity
Germany’s Council for Migration, an umbrella association of organisations representing migrants and people of colour, has denounced growing hostility towards racism researchers.
The council criticised several instances in which politicians tried to discredit academic research on racism, intolerance and their impact on society. These attempts had become more frequent, the council said in a position paper on the issue, with researchers in these fields being deliberately defamed and seeing their work “framed in ideological terms”.
