DFG publishes set of recommendations in anticipation of leadership change in September
The Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG), Germany’s largest public research funding body, has presented what it calls an “impulse paper” to help the upcoming government get research policy right.
In the paper, the funder formulates what it considers to be the most important fields for political action, “so that science can continue to play a key role in meeting central challenges in the future”. The recommendations cover topics such as the competitiveness of universities in international comparison, research infrastructure, the digital transformation, and better exchange between politics, science and society.
