DFG demands limitations to open-science approach

Transparency in research must be more than an end in itself, German funder says

Open science is not an automatic guarantee of high-quality research and must come with some limitations, according to the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft, Germany’s largest public research funder.

The funder warned of the high expectations raised around what open science can achieve, saying that these would be crushed without a more grounded approach.
