Cost of living crisis is wrecking budgets, warns association of German higher education institutions
The German Association of Universities (DHV) has urged federal and state governments to provide relief packages in light of persistently high energy prices.
DHV president Bernhard Kempen said that individual federal states, which are responsible for the day-to-day running of universities in Germany, are not fulfilling their responsibilities. “In view of extreme price increases, further relief must come,” he said.
