Research commissioner sets out plans for 10 partnerships with industry, on areas including health

There will be only a “very narrow” gap between funding flows from the EU’s 2014-20 R&D programme, Horizon 2020, and its 2021-27 follow-up, Horizon Europe, the EU R&D commissioner has said. Her pledge came as the European Commission set out its plans for partnerships with industry in the latter programme.

Speaking on 22 February, Mariya Gabriel pointed out that the last Horizon 2020 call closed on 27 January. She said that the €120 million the Commission announced earlier this month would be allocated for R&D on the Covid-19 pandemic from Horizon Europe would be “mobilised” in March.
