University networks, academies and national advisory councils rally in support of strongest Swiss participation
European scientific academies, university networks and independent government advisers have signed an open letter calling for Switzerland to be allowed the fullest possible participation in the EU’s Horizon Europe R&D programme, as an associated country.
The letter, published on 7 June, follows the breakdown of Swiss-EU talks last month on an overarching treaty to govern their relations, which would have paved the way for renewed Swiss association to the EU R&D programme for 2021-27, following its association to the predecessor programme.
