MEP Rosa D’Amato says European Commission should investigate EU research funding to Israel

An MEP has called for an investigation into whether EU research funds were used to develop Pegasus, the software created by an Israeli company that has reportedly been used by some countries to spy on other states and individuals through their phones.

Italian MEP Rosa D’Amato said the European Commission should investigate the provision of EU R&D funding to Israel and its possible involvement in the development of software technology such as Pegasus.
