Negotiations will cover access to EU R&D programme’s ‘Global Challenges’ and industrial competitiveness elements
Canada and New Zealand will be negotiating with the EU for access to just one chunk of the bloc’s Horizon Europe research programme, covering global challenges such as climate change and industrial competitiveness, according to the Council of the EU.
Association to EU research and innovation programmes offers non-EU countries access on almost equal terms as those in the bloc, in exchange for a financial contribution. Canada and New Zealand concluded exploratory talks on association earlier this year.
