Six in ten applicants request equity from European Innovation Council, despite fund’s previous delays
There has been “continued high demand” for equity-based investment from the EU’s flagship European Innovation Council funder, according to the European Commission, despite previous problems with such funding.
The EIC, which launched as a fully fledged funder in 2021 as part of the EU’s Horizon Europe research and innovation programme, uses a mixture of grants and equity-based investments to support the development of technological innovations and the growth of companies based on them.
