Education centre will boast exhibitions, laboratories, an auditorium and a giftshop

The headquarters of the European Organization for Nuclear Research, Cern, based in Geneva, Switzerland, has been given permission to build an education and outreach centre.

The building—which will host exhibitions and demonstration laboratories—expands Cern’s education and outreach offer. The high-energy physics lab gets around 100,000 visitors a year, most of them school students who visit the schools centre ‘Cern’s S’Cool LAB’.
