EPFL formally joins organisation building a planet-spanning radio telescope

Switzerland’s École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne has joined the SKA Organisation, the international consortium building the Square Kilometre Array radio telescope.

The organisation, which will be superseded in the coming years by an intergovernmental body, the SKA Observatory, announced on 20 April that EPFL was the 14th institution to become a member. It said EPFL will be “the lead institution coordinating involvement in the SKA on behalf of the Swiss academic community”.
