Four-year deal hailed by consortium as ‘big step’ toward full open access by 2024
The academic publishing and data analytics company Elsevier and consortia of Swiss universities and academic libraries have signed a deal providing the institutions with access to Elsevier content and open-access publishing options.
“Researchers affiliated to…consortium member institutions can access 16 million publications from over 2,500 journals published by Elsevier and its society partners via ScienceDirect,” the university consortium announced on 26 May. “Furthermore, researchers will be able to publish open access across the majority of Elsevier’s [fully open] and hybrid journals, scaling up to 100 per cent by 2023.”
