Tool launched to help repositories meet Plan S requirements

Self-assessment tool also offers guidance on good practice for open-access venues

A body that offers digital services to the UK’s higher education institutions, Jisc, has launched a tool for providers of article repositories to check whether their repository meets the requirements of the open-access initiative Plan S.

Under Plan S, a group of mainly European funders require articles reporting research they have supported to be made openly available immediately and under certain other conditions. One route to compliance is via an open-access repository, such as those run by many universities.
