Push for open access gathers momentum

                          

Legal changes sought to break down paywalls, as more funders demand openness from researchers

Researchers’ calls for policies and national laws that favour open access have intensified, after more major funders across Europe linked their grants to free access of any resulting publications.

Vetenskapsrådet, the Swedish Research Council, said last month that all research publications resulting from work funded since October will have to be published in a format that is immediately open access.
