Relationship between scientists and patients must improve, says Portuguese science minister
The current trio of presidencies of the Council of the EU—Portugal, Germany and Slovenia—have signed a declaration to “strengthen research in Europe on all stages of cancer, from prevention to diagnosis and treatment”, Portugal’s ministry of science announced on 13 October.
“It is necessary to improve the relationship between the scientific community and the patient,” said Portuguese science minister Manuel Heitor, who signed the document along with German education and research minister Anja Karliczek and Slovenian education minister Simona Kustec.
