Views sought on R&D aspects of EU’s Green Deal funding

Research leaders want the public to ‘help shape the call’

EU research heads are calling on citizens to provide input into the research and innovation funding aspects of the bloc’s planned Green Deal package of policies for environmentally sustainable economic growth.

“We need your help to shape the research areas,” R&D commissioner Mariya Gabriel tweeted on 19 May. The European Commission’s top R&D official Jean-Eric Paquet added: “We need all research and innovation actors involved to ensure a just and sustainable transition in the post-coronavirus recovery.”
