Raw materials alliance launches with 100 industry partners

European Institute of Innovation and Technology community will lead alliance, amid civil society concerns

The European Commission has launched the European Raw Materials Alliance, an initiative to make the EU more self-sufficient in raw materials by bringing together national authorities, industry, research organisations and civil society.

The alliance has been endorsed by 100 industry partners and 40 industry associations, as well as the European Federation of Geologists and the French Ministry for the Economy and Finance, EU internal market commissioner Thierry Breton said at the launch on 29 September.
