Antifungal research and innovation added to remit of international funding partnership

The Joint Programming Initiative on Antimicrobial Resistance, an EU-backed global R&D funding partnership, has updated its strategic research agenda, with the main change being the addition of antifungal research and innovation.

“Invasive fungal infections are life-threatening and are of increasing importance due to the expanding population of immunosuppressed patients and the limited number of available antifungal treatments,” the strategy launched on 6 April says.
