Hera should have “end-to-end oversight” of R&D for health emergencies, medical academies say
The EU’s planned new Health Emergency and Preparedness Response Authority should be given a remit to oversee and harmonise pandemic research and response efforts, the Federation of European Academies of Medicine has said.
“The creation of Hera is an opportunity to harmonise the European R&D biomedical landscape for pandemic preparedness and rapid response capacity,” Feam said in a joint statement it published with the Wellcome Trust biomedical research charity on 19 May, in response to a public consultation on the agency.
