EU’s innovation funder ‘overlooks university tech transfer’

Universities call for European Innovation Council to work more closely with them

The European Innovation Council has been criticised for overlooking technology-transfer offices at universities in its funding schemes.

In a statement published on 20 June, the Guild of European Research-Intensive Universities said that “the EIC somehow overlooks and unnecessarily duplicates or even circumvents” technology-transfer offices due to its centralised approach to managing projects.
