Record number of women apply for EU innovation prize

Over 270 people seek European Innovation Council-run awards of up to €100,000

The European Innovation Council says a record number of people have applied for this year’s version of its innovation prize for women.

The EU Prize for Women Innovators was launched in 2011 to try and create role models for women and girls. Its ninth edition received a record 277 applications, up from 264 in 2021 and 197 in 2020, according to the European Innovation Council, which oversees the prize.
