Fall in applications to Women Innovators award comes amid concerns over faltering ties

Applications from people in the UK and Switzerland to an EU innovation prize for women have plummeted, amid growing concern about crumbling research links between the three powers.

Both nations have been locked out of access to Horizon Europe, the EU’s R&D programme, amid political rows with the bloc. This has fuelled fears that traditionally strong ties, and exchanges of knowledge and people between the previously strong research bases of these nations and the EU will falter.
