European Commission has woken up to need for investment, says renewable energy expert
Industry and research organisations have welcomed plans to boost EU investment in clean technology industries, saying they could have a significant role in transitioning away from fossil fuels and in mitigating climate change.
“The European Commission has woken up, smelt the coffee, and given its latest Green Deal industrial plan more teeth than the previous iterations,” Greg Arrowsmith, the secretary general of the Association of European Renewable Energy Research Centres, told Research Europe.
