Facility promises ‘game-changer’ base for telecoms

    

SFI will provide tools and infrastructure to study mobile networks

A major research centre based at Trinity College Dublin has announced it is to develop a separate €2 million telecoms research unit to conduct experimentation in communications networks.

Connect, the Science Foundation Ireland research centre for future networks based at Trinity will provide specialised laboratory facilities and equipment t telecommunication researchers. This will include a dedicated fibre connection between Trinity and Dublin City University’s Glasnevin campus in a project named Open Ireland.
