Fresh funding for social research in Ireland and UK

Research councils team up to support collaboration during uncertain times

Social science funders in the Republic of Ireland and the UK have extended the deadline for applications for a networking grants programme aimed at fostering collaboration.

Originally launched on 2 March, the funding is provided by the UK’s Economic and Social Research Council and the Irish Research Council. Both institutions have decided to push the close of applications out to 17 June due to the coronavirus pandemic, which may be preventing researchers setting up collaborative teams.
