Funding from Coalesce programme will help to break down disciplinary barriers, says council
The Irish Research Council has announced an allocation of €5.3 million to research addressing “national and global societal challenges”, as part of its Collaborative Alliances for Societal Challenges (Coalesce) programme. The funding is spread across 21 research projects with a focus on sustainability and interdisciplinarity.
Funded projects include research on using digital games in children’s mathematics education; public health information during the Covid-19 pandemic; the effects of climate change on migration; electrification in Sub-Saharan countries; and the right to conscientious objection to abortion services.
