Diversity report highlights ‘need for change’

Royal Irish Academy warned it is losing out on talent due to lack of international appeal

An independent review of the membership of the Royal Irish Academy (RIA)—an all-island body of experts in the sciences, humanities and social sciences—has highlighted a “need for change” at the organisation.

The report, published last month, said the RIA needed to amend its hiring and appointment policies to “reflect current best international practice in equality, diversity and inclusion”.
