Irish libraries warn of ‘systemic problem’ with ebooks

   

Librarians highlight supply crisis caused by soaring prices and ‘onerous’ terms and conditions

The Library Association of Ireland has warned of a “systemic problem” with the provision of ebooks to libraries, during an event held in reaction to a price hike for electronic content.

Concerns over the cost of ebooks and what the LAI called “increasingly onerous” terms and conditions were voiced during an online seminar hosted by the LAI on 29 January.
