Science Foundation Ireland offers €2.47 million for projects solving climate, health and poverty challenges

The Irish government has named seven research teams that will receive a total of €2.47 million to address the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals, including by competing for a top prize of €1m.

The funding is being delivered through Science Foundation Ireland’s SDG Challenge funding programme, which is intended to help transdisciplinary teams of researchers develop transformative and sustainable solutions to challenges that fall under the scope of the SDGs, such as around healthcare, sanitation and pollution.
