Facility will integrate data science across all faculties and research in ‘uniquely Dutch’ approach

The University of Amsterdam is to set up a Data Science Centre that will hire scientists to stimulate the use of data generation and sharing, especially in fields where this is not yet well established.

The DSC is to be launched early in 2021 and is expected to have 35 data scientists and engineers on staff by 2025. These will be distributed across all faculties and departments, the university said.
