The Netherlands must improve knowledge protection, Harry van der Molen tells Erik te Roller
The Netherlands spends 2.2 per cent of its GDP on R&D—below the EU average. If re-elected in March the Christian Democratic Appeal party, which forms part of the country’s coalition government, aims to raise this to 2.5 per cent over its next term.
Harry van der Molen, an MP for the CDA, says that aim is possible “if the government increases public R&D spending and thus entices companies to invest more in R&D”.
