University hopes to attract satellite services to the Netherlands after Brexit transition period
The Netherlands is vying to host two services of the EU’s Copernicus satellite programme that are to be relocated from the UK following Brexit.
Utrecht University has put in a bid to host the Copernicus Atmosphere Monitoring Service and the Copernicus Climate Change Service at its campus, according to Wilco Hazeleger, dean of the geosciences faculty. The university hopes to strengthen its education and research activities in the field of weather, environment and climate, he said.
