Journal of Trial and Error co-founder outlines the value of failure

The founder of a journal dedicated to failure has told Research Professional News that he hopes the publication will change the way science is conducted—and eventually make its own existence unnecessary.

It is a longstanding worry among many researchers that work that has failed is rarely published in traditional outlets. Although failures can help other researchers avoid mistakes and can provide vital data, they can also look bad on CVs and are often shunned by journals. The team behind the Journal of Trial and Error hopes to help change this.
